Ferrets for Adoption
Please read our instructions for ferret adoption before calling us at (503) 231-0887 (voice mail). Note that we do not ship ferrets. If you are looking for a shelter in your area please check the STAR List of Shelters and Clubs.

If you can't adopt a ferret, there are still plenty of ways you can help them out, and one of the easiest ways is to participate in the CFN ferret sponsorship programs! Ferret sponsorships also make the perfect gift for friends and loved ones that are also ferret enthusiasts or animal lovers.

Each ferret shown below with the Special Needs Sponsor icon next to their name needs extra support from a caring member of the ferret community. Any ferret without the Incoming Sponsored icon by its name is eligible for the incoming ferret sponsorship.

Ferret Age Adoption Fee
3 years and under $95
over 3 years $80
The age of each ferret is given for the date of their arrival, and you must add time since then to get their current age (for example, for a ferret that has been at CFN one year, add one year to the listed age).

A $30 discount is available if you adopt an established group of ferrets (ferrets that must be adopted out together).

Could adopting a pair of ferrets make sense for you?

Number ferrets in the network: 52

Name: Barnaby Special Needs Sponsor Sex: M Age: 1.5 years Color: sable
Name: Bartholomew Sex: M Age: 1.5 years Color: sable
Arrived: 2001
These handsome twin boys are a delight to watch romping with their ferret buddies. We don't know much about them, but they appear to be healthy and well adjusted despite being "gotten rid of" by their former owners. Barnaby and Bartholomew are both from Marshall Farms. Barnaby was named after Melissa Taylor's cartoon strip ferret, Barnaby A. Ferret.

Latest update for Barnaby and Batholomew.

Bartholomew died toward the end of June 2007 after months of chemotherapy for lymphoma. Barnaby and his foster parents miss him.

Name: Scuttlebutt Sex: M Age: 1.5 years Color: sable
Name: Tattletail Special Needs Sponsored Sex: F Age: 1.5 years Color: sable
Arrived: 2001
This adorable pair of sables was flown north to be free of persecution. They were confiscated in California from a man living in his car. They are both very chubby and Scuttlebutt waddles a bit when he walks making his tail wave around in a very endearing way. Scuttlebutt and Tattletail like other ferrets and love people. They are both from Marshall Farms. Scuttlebutt died at the end of November, 2002.

Latest update for Tattletail.

Name: Amber Sex: F Age: 5 months Color: cinnamon
Name: Sheba Sex: F Age: < 1 year Color: cinnamon
Arrived: May 29, 2004 (Amber)
Arrived: June 7, 2004 (Sheba)
Originally placed: July 2, 2004
Returned: January 24, 2006
Sheba and Amber arrived at CFN about a week apart and were adopted into a new home together soon after, but now their owner is moving to Washington D.C. where she cannot take ferrets, and so the girls are looking to find a new home again. They are about 2 to 2.5 years old now. The following was written about the girls when they first arrived:

Sheba was found as a stray, and is a little ball of energy. She is constantly alert to what is happening around her and MUST be a part of it. She is very young and very pudgy, and is a bit free with putting her mouth on skin, and has made the volunteers yelp and jump by going after their feet. She may be a handful for a first time owner. Sheba gets along great with other ferrets. She doesn't have any tattoos.

Amber is an adorable, affectionate and very active and playful girl who gets along with other ferrets. Amber is from Marshall Farms.

Name: Louie Sex: M Age: 5.5 years Color: silver
Arrived: November 14, 2004
Placed: December 22, 2004
Returned: October 15, 2007 (age is relative to this date)

Louie's second owner was a teenager whose father would not allow her to bring Louie with her when they moved. Louie has a beautiful rich golden undercoat. He gets along with other ferrets and plays gently with humans. Louie is from Marshall Farms.

Louie was thought to be 2.5 years old when he arrived at CFN about 3 years ago, and he was adopted soon after his arrival to be a companion for a beloved pet. The beloved pet eventually died and Louie is now looking for his forth home.

Name: Annie Special Needs Sponsored Sex: F Age: 4 years Color: dark-eyed white
Name: Baby Special Needs Sponsored Sex: F Age: 5 years Color: dark-eyed white
Arrived: January 9, 2005
Originally placed: January 28, 2005
Returned: March 2, 2006
This business of ferrets had to be given up because their owner is going to Iraq. Gilligan was adopted from CFN in 200 as a 4 month old unneutered stray (since neutered). Gilligan gets along with the others in the home but has not been friendly to new ferrets he has met. Their former owner felt that Annie and Baby should stay together, and he told CFN that they are both deaf. We also want to keep Buffalo Girl and Booboo together. They are all very active and have beautiful coats, except for Annie who has a bare butt, and so may need adrenal surgery. All of them except Gilligan are from Marshall Farms.

These girls were adopted from CFN one year ago, and have been given good care, but when it became obvious that Baby needed adrenal surgery, the owner could not deal with the financial obligation of caring for a pair of older ferrets. Both are deaf but get along with other ferrets.

Baby underwent adrenal surgery April 6, 2006 and never recovered. A necropsy showed she died of peritonitis caused by a hole in her intestine. The vets were very surprised and baffled, since Baby appeared health before surgery. She had a very long procedure with a right adrenal that was difficult to remove. Baby's long time cage-mate Annie is adjusting to Baby's absence thanks to all the other ferrets (Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Willow, Hufflepuff, Takoda, Hermione, and Chantilly) in her foster home.

Annie recently lost a tooth, but otherwise is in good health, and enjoys playing with her cage mates Hufflepuff and Takoda, and bossing her foster parents about.

Name: Violet Special Needs Sponsored Sex: F Age: 3 years Color: silver
Name: Daffodil Special Needs Sponsored Sex: F Age: 3 years Color: chocolate
Arrived: February 5, 2006
This pair of cute little sprites was left on the doorstep of Multnomah County Animal Services. Violet and Daffodil appear to be in good shape, but just need to find a new home where they can stay together. Both are from Marshall Farms.
Name: Penny Sex: F Age: 4 years Color: sable
Arrived: February 16, 2006
Penny was rescued by Good Samaritan 2 months ago,and after they could not find her a new home they contacted CFN. Penny is from Marshall Farms.
Name: Oscar Sex: M Age: 3 years Color: panda
Name: Calvin Sex: M Age: 4 years Color: chocolate
Arrived: February 17, 2006
Not much is known about these sweet little boys, but the previous owner was moving and asked his roommate to find them a new home. Oscar and Calvin have a history of getting along well with children, cats, dogs, and other ferrets (what sweet boys!). We hope that these two incredibly wonderful fuzzies will find their forever home soon! Oscar is from Marshall Farms, but like Brad and Janet, Calvin doesn't have any tattoos.
Name: Chaya Incoming Sponsored Sex: F Age: 3 years Color: chocolate sable
Name: Anya Incoming Sponsored Sex: F Age: 3.5 yeara Color: chocolate sable
Arrived: March 13, 2006
Placed: July 16, 2006
Returned: November 3, 2007 (ages are relative to this date)

The former owner of this pair of sprites acquired them in Minnesota while he was attending college. The owner moved to Medford and into the home of a relative who would not allow him to let the girls out of their cage to play. He was tormented by this and decided Chaya and Anya had to find a home where they could get to play outside a cage everyday.

These girls were adopted from CFN about a year ago when they were 2 to 2.5 years old. They have been returned because their owners had a baby and they don't have time to care for them <heavy sigh>.

Name: Dookie Sex: M Age: 2 years Color: chocolate
Name: Yuki Sex: M Age: 3 years Color: sable

Arrived: April 28, 2006
Dookie and Yuki, along with four other ferrets, were forced to find new homes when a sick relative of their owner required the family to relocate from Astoria to Arizona. Dookie is into balls and bells. If it is a ball or it has a bell, he must have it, he can't get enough of them and he collects as many as he can get his paws on. Yuki is more laid back and will even allow himself to be cuddled. Dookie and Yuki are both from Marshall Farms.

Name: Lancelot Special Needs Sponsored Sex: M Age: 5.5 years Color: albino
Name: Lily Sex: F Age: 4.5 years Color: silver

Arrived: June 15, 2006
Lancelot and Lily were both rescued from abusive situations and have been living together now for about 4 years.

Lily was rescued by a kind bystander who found her in a dumpster -- her jaw had been broken from a fall from a second-story window. Lily's jaw has since healed and the only noticeable vestige of her ordeal is that her jaw is slightly askew. Lily has had no problems eating, as she carefully crunches down her food into tiny pieces. Lily is bright, energetic, fun, gentle and LOVES to play! She wrestles with Phoebe and Lance, her ferret roommates. She loves any toy and especially loves to climb. She particularly enjoys interacting with humans, and is always the first ferret out of the cage to play.

Lancelot was rescued after having been kicked in the head and discarded by a previous owner, and he has been blind in his left eye ever since, but Lance's partial blindness has not slowed him down a bit! He is a sweet, gentle little guy, and he frequently begins a wrestling match with his ferret friends, only to find that the girls are too aggressive for him; but he keeps going back for more. He loves to be held, and enjoys giving kisses. Scratch under his chin, and he melts! Lance is slow and methodical while playing and exploring, and never tries to escape: he's just happy being in the company of his humans. Lance recently began losing his hair due to adrenal disease; however, he has been responding well to Lupron therapy, and has gained back some weight and has begun to regrow hair. He's very affectionate, and does well with a harness and leash.

Both Lance and Lily have been around cats, and small children. Lily and Lance lived happily with their new owner for two years, before being left with a temporary caretaker when the owner moved to California, where owning domestic ferrets is illegal. It has been two years now since the move and the temporary caretakers can no longer keep them. Lance and Lily are both from Marshall Farms.

Lance died on January 24, 2008.

Name: Mister Special Needs Sponsored Sex: M Age: 5 years Color: sable
Name: Mini Special Needs Sponsored Sex: F Age: 5 years Color: sable

Arrived: June 19, 2006
Mister and Minnie Me need to find a new home because their teen aged owner made a poor decision to move out and into a bad situation that put her pet ferrets at risk, and while she got herself out of the situation, she was unable to take the ferrets with her. The pair has been living with Slinky and they get along with other ferrets. Despite their age, both Mister and Minnie Me are very active and playful. Mister has an adorable white bib and kneecaps, but he is showing symptoms of adrenal disease that will need attention. Minnie Me (possibly the cutest ferret on the planet right now) had been rescued as a young ferrets from a situation of abuse: her tail does unusual things because it was broken by her first owners whose children were allowed to spin her around by her tail. Both Mister and Minnie Me are from Marshall Farms.

Name: Wasabi Incoming Sponsored Sex: M Age: 4 years Color: silver
Name: Sushi Incoming Sponsored Sex: F Age: 2.5 years Color: sable

Arrived: July 8, 2006
Wasabi and Sushi came from Longview, WA. Wasabi is a gorgeous silver male about 4 years old and Sushi is a 2.5 year old sable female. Sushi was given as a gift to her previous owner, Wasabi was acquired from a 3rd party to be a companion for Sushi. They have been together 2 years. The pair was relinquished to CFN because the owner's living arrangements changed and she was no longer able to care for them properly, evidenced by their incredibly long nails and flea infestation upon their arrival. Wasabi and Sushi have been around kids. Sadly, Wasabi has had some health issues after his arrival, a blood test showed signs that he may have lymphoma. They are both from Marshall Farms.

Name: Cyrano Special Needs Sponsored Incoming Sponsored Sex: M Age: 3 years Color: sable
Name: Roxanne Special Needs Sponsored Incoming Sponsored Sex: F Age: 3 years Color: blaze

Arrived: August 22, 2006
Cyrano and Roxanne were turned over to a rescue organization in Vancouver, Washington called Second Chance when their owner was unable to find them a new home herself. She had been given the pair 9 months before and they are several years old, so they must have been through several owners at this point. Second Chance does not have much experience with ferrets so they turned the pair over to CFN to find them a new home. The pair is a little on the thin side, but are very gentle and playful with humans and other ferrets. Cyrano is especially sweet to humans, and he gives kisses all the time. Roxanne is quite lively and a tail wagger in the tubes. They are both from Marshall Farms.

Cyrano was finally helped over the rainbow bridge on December 21 after a long struggle with Inflammatory Bowel disease. He was a sweetheart who will be greatly missed by his foster parent and his lifelong cagemate, Roxanne.

Name: Mathilde Special Needs Sponsored Sex: F Age: 3.5 years Color: sable

Arrived: October 13, 2006
Mathilde was found in the middle of nowhere, unable to use her hind legs. Her rescuers took her home and contacted CFN to help. We made the 4 hour round trip to Lebanon, OR to pick her up and found a very robust 3-4 year old sable sprite that had no tattoos to tell us her origin. She may have been bred locally. She had no sign of any injury and since she was quickly regaining some use of her hind legs, we suspect she may have had atrophied muscles from being cage bound or sustained a nerve injury during her escape. No one has claimed Mathilde and once she has been treated for her ear mite infestation, we will see how she gets along with other ferrets. She has a small growth on one of her front legs that needs to be removed.

Update: Mathilde likes other ferrets, providing they're friendly and not to mean (hear that, Slinky?). Mathilde loves people and will handle wrestle with you for hours.

Name: Domino Incoming Sponsored Sex: M Age: 1.5 years Color: champagne
Name: Balboa Incoming Sponsored Sex: M Age: 1.5 years Color: albino

Arrived: October 15, 2006
Domino is a sturdy gib with beautiful champagne markings. He seem to be the leader of the bunch. Balboa is Domino's albino side kick. They arrived at CFN through Humane Haven in Redding CA where they, along with a pair of cage-mates (Sneed and La-La), were confiscated from a homeless man living in his car. They were transferred to CFN to find new homes outside of CA. Both are from Marshall Farms.

Name: Dylan Incoming Sponsored Sex: M Age: 3.5 years Color: sable
Name: Harley Special Needs Sponsored Sex: M Age: 4 years Color: cinnamon

Arrived: November 30, 2006
Placed: May 1, 2007
Returned: November 1, 2007 (ages are relative to this date)

This pair of sweethearts have been through at least three homes. Their most recent home had them for 3 months and tried to get Dylan and Harley into better shape (they arrived very thin with coarse coats), and got them started on a better quality food, read up on how to care for ferrets, but they couldn't deal with the strong odor of the pair. Once they arrived at CFN it was clear the odor problem was caused by Harley, who is exhibiting symptoms of adrenal disease: very thin fur and a very strong smell. He will be getting surgery soon, but we want to get some more weight on him first. The pair is very happy to be rid of the fleas and ear mites they arrived with and are having a great time playing with the other ferrets. Dylan is very good at climbing and finding ferret proofing weak spots. Dylan and Harley are from Marshall Farms.

Harley and Dylan originally arrived at CFN in November 2006 and were adopted by their foster parent in May, 2007 and returned in November 2007 because the family can not afford the vet care they need.

Earlier this year Harley had adrenal surgery and also had two huge hairballs removed from his stomach, and is now fluffy and chubby again.

Name: Bowen Sex: M Age: 3 years Color: cinnamon
Name: Loki Sex: M Age: 3 years Color: cinnamon
Arrived: April 7, 2007
Bowen and Loki were much loved ferrets who had to be turned over to CFN because one of their owners developed a severe allergy to them. They were in the same home since they were kits and came to Oregon all the way from Ohio. They get along well with other ferrets. Bowen tends to have some problems adjusting to new circumstances, which he displays by inappropriate nipping behavior.
Name: Jules Special Needs Sponsored Sex: M Age: 4 years Color: dark sable

Arrived: July 12, 2007
Jules is very lucky to be alive. He was rescued by a Good Samaritan that found him in the middle of a busy road during a very hot stretch of weather in July. Not only was he thin and very dehydrated, he was also unable to use his hind legs normally. An x-ray showed a fractured pelvis. Jules was also lucky to be fostered by an experienced ferret owner who is very capable of dealing with his special requirements. He needed supplemental fluids and feedings, special medications and physical therapy. He has improved greatly, but may always be disabled and need special care. He has a wonderful personality and has bonded with one of the pets owned by the foster parent. The foster parent says: "He is a doll. He and Annie really like each other. She grooms him; he plays with her. This guy hasn't an aggressive bone towards ferrets in his body. And he will lay on my chest and lick my face for eons." Jules is from Marshall Farms

Name: Buffy Sex: F Age: 2 years Color: champagne

Arrived: July 15, 2007
Buffy arrived in July because her elderly owner could not afford to pay for her vet care. Buffy was purchased from Petco as a companion to another ferret, and she is aggressive with cats. Buffy is from Marshall Farms.

Name: Elly Mae Special Needs Sponsor Sex: F Age: 4 years Color: dark-eyed white

Arrived: July 29, 2007
Elly Mae was found as a very thin and scruffy stray walking down the road. The people that found her were going to keep her, until they found out that her swollen vulva meant she had adrenal disease and that she would need surgery. She is a very beautiful dark-eyed white and gets along with other ferrets. She has no tattoos so we do not know her origin.

Name: Sterling Special Needs Sponsored Sex: M Age: 4 years Color: silver/blaze

Arrived: August 12, 2007
Sterling was confiscated from a condemned house after his owner was arrested on drug possession charges -- sadly Sterling was found with a dead cagemate. He arrived at the rescue agency in California underweight with sticky, urine-covered fur, a weepy eye, and with a sore on his side. A vet felt he had had a broken leg in his past and he does not use that hind leg normally. Since his arrival we have found that he is deaf and probably blind as well. He is in a foster home now enjoying the company of another older ferret, Diego, and Diego is enjoying the grooming Sterling provides. Sterling has no tattoo, so we don't know his origin.

Name: Liberty Special Needs Sponsor Sex: F Age: 7 years Color: silver mitt
Name: Betty Boop Special Needs Sponsor Sex: F Age: 5 years Color: sable
Name: Lola Sex: M Age: 3 years Color: silver mitt

Arrived: August 27, 2007
All of these ferrets were owned by a long time CFN supporter for their entire lives, but had to be surrendered because of the serious asthma issue of the owner's infant. Liberty, Betty Boop and Lola were all purchased from Animal Crossing II in Wilsonville. These girls have been around cats. We want to keep Liberty and Betty Boop together, but Lola could go to a new home as long as she had another ferret companion. Betty Boop is showing the first signs of adrenal disease. Lola and Betty Boop are both from Marshall Farms and Liberty does not have any tattoos. The following is from their foster caretaker: "All three girls get along well with the cats - no problem there. And of course, they all love people. Lola is the most rambunctious and playful. She is full of vinegar and that has endeared her to Jake since he LOVES playing with them when they get wild. Libby and Betty Boop both give lots of kisses (my favorite thing). Once in awhile, Libby gets nippy but has never been mean. She is also the most vocal and "dooks" quite a bit. Betty Boop is the most docile. She goes about her business in a quietly determined way and has learned to open the sliding closets. When she gets tired, she puts herself to bed in the cage. I've yet to see Lola get tired so I don't know her energy limit yet!" Liberty and Betty Boop should have "needs special needs sponsor" symbols

Name: Eloise Special Needs Sponsored Sex: F Age: 4 years Color: albino

Arrived: October 8, 2007
Eloise is a middle-aged albino that was found in a cage by the side of the road in Medford, OR. She had an injury to one of her eyes and the worst case of ear mites the vet has ever seen. Both problems are being treated.

Name: Kit Sex: F Age: 7 years Color: dark-eyed white

Arrived: October 7, 2007
Kit is an old dark-eyed white girl who has been through multiple homes, with her most recent living arrangement with someone who had become homeless. She is sweet and doing pretty good for a senior.

Name: McLovin Sex: M Age: 4 years Color: silver

Arrived: November 25, 2007
McLovin was found as a stray and turned in to Haven Humane in Redding, CA and had to be sent out of state since ferrets are illegal to own in the state. He is a beautiful fluffy guy who seems to have just learned how to hiss, since he does it constantly, even when no one is around to hear him. He loves people attention, but is learning to interact with other ferrets now. He loves playing in the tubes and tunnels in his foster home and is nicknamed "the little drummer boy" because he thrums his tail inside the tubes because he is so excited and it sounds like a tattoo on a drum. McLovin is from Marshall Farms.

Name: Merlin Sex: M Age: 3 years Color: albino

Arrived: December 15, 2007
Merlin was a much loved ferret that had been found as a stray a year before by his current owners. Unfortunately Merlin was very sick and his owners were unable to provide him with essential vet care. Without extensive medical intervention, Merlin would have died, so they turned him over to CFN. Merlin was obviously jaundiced which indicates liver problems. He was also severely dehydrated and emaciated. We started him on subcutaneous fluids, antibiotics, and hand feeding. Later we had to add some other mediations to deal with digestive system issues. It took a lot of TLC from his experienced foster parent to get him back on the right tract. Merlin's former owners have called several times to get updates on his status. Merlin is now stable and is wrestling and playing with the other ferrets in his foster home.

Name: Nevada Sex: M Age: 4 years Color: sable
Name: Reno Sex: M Age: 3 years Color: silver
Name: Sedona Sex: F Age: 4 years Color: dark-eyed white

Arrived: December 16, 2007
This trio was surrendered because of an illness in the family that required a move to Arizona to care for the relative. The owner reported they have been around dogs and cats. The males were acquired as kits from a pet store and the female was found as a stray in Warrenton. Their foster parent reports that they love playing with humans. In fact they get upset if they are not able to have people play time. They are full of kisses and love playing with balls and tubes, despite what their former owner told us. Nevada has no tattoo to establish his origin and Reno and Sedona are from Marshall Farms

Name: Seasons Sex: F Age: 2 years Color: chocolate
Name: Banzai Sex: M Age: 8 months Color: silver

Arrived: January 24, 2008
This pair was turned in to Haven Humane in Redding, CA because their owner was charged with cruelty. They were very thin and not in good shape since they had been without water or food for about a week or so. Banzai has recovered completely and is the most enthusiastic jumper we have had for a while (which is saying something). He leaps at your legs and latches on to your pants at knee height. Sometimes he just jumps straight up like he is on a pogo stick. Seasons is still very skittish and scuttles away to hide with the littlest noise or sudden movement. She will play enthusiastically with the other ferrets when she feels secure though. They are both from Marshall Farms.

Name: Fraizer Sex: M Age: 6 years Color: sable
Name: Frannie Sex: F Age: 6 years Color: sable

Arrived: March 12, 2008
This pair of senior citizens have lived with the same couple their entire lives, but the previous owners are seniors as well and can no longer care for the ferrets because of changes in thier lifestyle. Fraizer and Fannie have lived in a household with a dog. Fraizier love tennis balls, or any ball and he also cuddles up with small stuffed animals -- if given a bowl of water he will use it to dunl his face and snorkle. As most ferrets in this age bracket, they are both dealing with health issues.

Name: Timber Sex: M Age: 3 years Color: silver mitt

Arrived: March 16, 2008
Timber is a very athletic guy. He arrived as a stray from Gresham that was turned in to Multnomah County Animal Services and was never claimed. He is very talkative and a good climber and jumper. He loves wrestling and rough-housing with other ferrets. Timber got his name because when he first arrived he did a lot of shivering and his foster caretaker kept thinking of the expression "shiver me timbers!". Timber is from Marshall Farms.

Name: Buttons Sex: F Age: 2 years Color: sable
Name: Bo Sex: M Age: 2 years Color: champagne panda

Arrived: March 23, 2008
Buttons and Bo started a better life on Easter when they were picked from Humboldt CA by a CFN foster parent in southern Oregon. The Sheiff's department called CFN after the pair had been confiscated along with a laundry list of reptiles including rattlesnakes and a monitor lizard from a house where the power had been turned off. There was no heat and the reptiles barely survived. Buttons and Bo had a dead cagemate when found and were quite skinny themselves, but you can't tell that now. They could make good ambassadors, both are very friendly and gentle with amazingly soft fur and Bo just melts when you pick him up. Bo's foster caretaker thinks he might be deaf which is not unusual in ferrets with a white stripe on the top of the head. Both are from Marshall Farms.

Name: Bambino Sex: M Age: 1 year Color: blaze

Arrived: April 6, 2008
This cutie was found wondering in a rural part of Gresham and walked up to the home of a family that didn't know what to do with him. An acquaintance of the family that found him knew a ferret fanatic who contacted CFN. We are still getting to know Bambino's personality, but he loves chasing balls.

Other Ferrets
The following ferrets are not yet in the network, and their current owners are trying to find them homes -- contact the CFN for additional information on these ferrets.
Name: Moxie Sex: F Age: 3 years Color: silver
Name: Expo Sex: M Age: 3 years Color: sable

Available: November, 2007
This pair of ferrets need to find a new home, but are staying with their current caretaker until a qualified new owner can be found. The following is from Moxie and Expo's current owner:

Moxie, the girl, is a little stand-offish but likes to play with Expo, the boy. Expo is very loveable, friendly and playful - he doesn't bite except when playing and then only light nipping. Expo has Inflamatory Bowel Disease and requires a single daily dose of medicine, which he doesn't mind too much. Moxie gets irritated if you don't pay attention to her and will sometimes nip to let you know she wants something... fortunately, she licks first, letting you know you should watch out! Both have been around kids, dogs and cats (sort of -- the cat knows to stay away from them -- she doesn't like them at all).

These ferrets were my son's, and now he doesn't want to have anything to do with them, and so their care has landed in my lap. Unfortunately we have too much going on at home with the two ferrets, a dog and a cat (both of whom are geriatric and have serious health problems). Additionally we have a daughter who is also under constant medical care, and it is all becoming too much. I have to find a new home for these ferrets!

Name: Buttertubs Sex: F Age: 3 years Color: silver
Name: Jinglepot Sex: M Age: 3 years Color: dark eyed white
Name: Verity Sex: F Age: 3 years Color: sable

Available: December, 2007

Buttertubs, Jinglepot and Verity are three beautiful ferrets who need to find a new home because their owner's career involves a move to either California or Hawaii where ferrets are illegal. They all get along with other ferrets. Buttertubs is huge and doesn't mind being cuddled. These three great ferrets are staying with the current caretaker until we can find them a new home, are each about 3 years old and are from Marshall Farms.

Name: Amelia Sex: F Age: 6 years Color: dark-eyed white
Name: Kobe Sex: M Age: 6 years Color: sable
Name: Akio Sex: M Age: 4 years Color: silver

Available: Janaury 3, 2008
This trio is looking for a new home because their owner recently had a baby and decided it would be best to give up the ferrets. They are staying with their current owner in Kirkland, WA while trying to find them a new home. She said the following about her ferrets: "I got Amelia in August of 2001 in Iowa at Petco, she was 8 weeks old. I had her for just a month when my dog jumped on the bed and I didnt realize Amelia was under the covers. Amelia had to have pins put in her knee because her leg got broke when my dog stepped on her. No problems with that since then. I got Kobe in Mount Vernon, WA in July 2002, he was about 12 weeks old. I remember holding him and he started to lick my face, that's how he came home with me. Akio is kind of special to me because he was the last birthday gift I received from my now ex husband. He was the last one and was all jumping around like he want to play let's go. That was September of 2004. I got him in Oak Harbor, WA. They have all had veterinary care. All are current on vaccinations, Kobe had a pretty severe reaction to his last set of vaccinations so the vet said that he no longer needed to get vaccinated. They have all been around my dogs. Akio has never been around other ferrets so I'm not sure of his reaction, Amelia and Kobe have been. Amelia's reaction was just something like hi how you doing, but Kobe is more dominate and he grabbed one by the neck and started to drag her off. Overall, my ferrets are all pretty docile. Akio is a water ferret though. I started to fill my bathtub with water to give my dog a bath once and Akio got in the water and started swimming. I could hardly believe it. Akio is also a bit more of a biter then the other two. Amelia and Kobe only bite when playing. I'm really struggling with my decision to give them up, but in the long run it will be best for my family." The owner lives in Vancouver, WA and would be willing to drive up to 100 miles or so if a good placement is found.

Name: Just Jack Sex: M Age: 1 year Color: silver mitt
Name: Will Sex: M Age: 1 year Color: blaze

Just Jack and Will are a pair of 15 month old ferrets that need to find a new home for one of the traditional reasons: "moving". They are staying with their current owners while CFN tries to find them a new home. They are moving in 2 weeks, so they don't have much time. Just Jack and Will are named after characters from the TV show Will & Grace. They were purchased from Petco and have their birth documents to show they were born in January of 2007. Just Jack is as goofy as the character he is named after, and he has white mitts and a very pale mask. Will has a blaze on the top of his head (this trait is often associated with deafness, but the owners have not noted any signs of that). They have had no vet care and would come with the cage they are currently living in, a single level Super Pet style cage, which sounds too small to house two ferrets. CFN is screening people before referring them to the owners.
