Gizmo
December 1, 2004

Gizmo is pponsored by devoted ferret owners Jerry Zimm and Jody Austin

Gizmo arrived in July of 2000 as a unnuetered stray from Medford and was estimated to be about 2.5 years old. He was adopted with another shelter ferret in September of that year, but returned with his cagemate a year later and has been at the shelter ever since. In May of 2004 Gizmo had to have emergency surgery to remove a foreign body from his digestive tract (he chewed up and swallowed the tongue of a shoe at his foster home). Gizmo survived, but the pair had to be separated from each other for a few days. When they were reunited they attacked each other as if they had never met, so now Gizmo is without a ferret playmate. Gizmo is very active and enthusiastic about life even though he is pushing 6-7 years of age. He is a very rowdy player that unfortunately doesn't have very good manners and can't ignore human feet.
