Responssored for 2004!

Hermione is sponsored by Jennifer Kinsella of Monroe, CT.

Hermione had adrenal surgery June 5th. She recovered without incident, but currently has a peculiar pattern of hair loss on her tail that reminds us of a lion's tail (she has a tuft of long hairs at the tip, but not much hair on the rest of the tail). She is living in a big group cage situation with 15 other ferrets and gets out to play twice each day with them. She is kind of a loner, probably because of being deaf. She almost always sleeps by herself and when out in the play rooms always seems to find new and hard to find sleeping spot. She plays with a lot of exuberance, but seems to get carried away, both with humans and ferrets and plays too rough. Because she is deaf, it is hard for her to know that she is hurting her playmates. She also looks humans in the face which is a trait we have frequently seen with deaf ferrets, she really pays attention to humans when they are interacting with her.
