Spunky

Spunky has been sponsored by Rebecca Bogorad.

Spunky was returned to the shelter in the summer of 2004 after being adopted 5 years ago. She was in terrible condition, her coat was coarse and sparse and it looked like she probably had adrenal disease. She was also skinny and had not been eating very well. After her arrival she dove into the food bowl and polished off almost the entire bowl in a day for several days in a row. She was obviously gaining weight and looked like she was shedding her horrible coat. She plumped up very quickly and grew in a beautiful dark, soft coat of fur even on her tail. Unfortunately soon after joining the rest of the healthy ferrets she showed classic symptoms of ECE and lost weight again. Luckily she loves soup and after being on medication her stools were looking good again and her weight was satisfactory, but now every time I completely cut out the soup, she stops eating her kibble and has loose stools again. Now that she is feeling ok again, she had the opportunity to play with other ferrets, but that hasn't worked out very well, so she gets playtime by herself.
