Wizard
March 20, 2002

Wizard is sponsored by Anna Wellborn, a very generous ferret supporter.

Wizard arrived in May of 2001 under suspicious circumstances. We were told he was rescued from a person that had caught him in a raccoon trap, but they would not tell us the specific location. Wizard appeared to be an older ferret with an abnormal (atrophied) right eye and was showing signs of adrenal disease. When he had surgery in July, they found that both his adrenal glands were abnormal. They removed as much as they could of the diseased gland, but the pathology report said the gland was malignant and not all of it had been removed, so he is likely to have adrenal related issues in the future. Currently he is a very boisterous boy, but he uses his teeth too hard when playing, humans have to be careful.
